Italians for Obama

Dear friends,
I know it’s difficult to know whether is Obama is going to be the promise it appears or he will disappoint you for his inexperience (I understand this is one of the main criticism to him). But on one side you have the certainity of continuity with the policies that drove America to the historical minimum in popularity, the entire world to the worst economic crisis and to the most expensive and useless war (I’m not sure a war could be ever considered useful…). On the other side you have a hope for change.

We hope because we all need this change. This change is going to lead to better relationships between USA and the rest of the world. And both you guys and all of us need that America that lead the world to modernity, that freed Europe from nazifascism (which is radically different from today’s “exporting democracy”), that teached us and many other countries what a modern democracy is, the America of great men as Roosvelt, JFK and Martin Luther King, and great women as the suffragettes and Rosa Parks, the list is countless. The America that let one believe that everything is possible.
